The Porch Partners’ Guide to Farmhand

📣 Welcome, Porch Partner!

A note from Ari, the Founder of Farmhand

‍

Hi there,

‍

I’m Ari, and I’m so glad you’re here. I started Farmhand after moving to a small farm of my own and getting to know the farmers in my community, many of whom were running incredible CSAs while juggling an impossible number of tasks just to keep things going.

‍

What struck me most wasn’t just the workload—it was how deeply supported these farmers were by their communities. Neighbors who showed up early to help pack boxes. Friends who handed out flyers. Loyal members who recruited others because they believed in the farm’s mission.

‍

That’s the spirit behind the Porch Partner program.

‍

Earlier this year, I met Sophie, a CSA member who had recently moved to a town with fewer local food options. She missed her market and farm connection, so she started hosting CSA pickups right from her porch. It grew faster than anyone expected. Today, she runs three thriving pickup sites for three different farms.

‍

We built this program around people like Sophie—and people like you.

‍

Whether you’re hosting for neighbors, coworkers, or your local school, your local pickup site is helping local farms thrive, while bringing fresh food to more families in your community. That’s no small feat, and

I want to personally thank you for being part of it.

‍

We’ve made everything easy to use in the pages ahead. And if you ever need anything, we’re here to help.

🥬 Porch Partner Rewards & Responsibilities

We believe in celebrating community builders. Here’s what you’ll receive as your site grows.

*Note: Sites < 10 members subject to standard CSA pricing

Your Role in Supporting Local Food & Community

‍

With great rewards comes great responsibility. Being a Porch Partner means you’re agreeing to the following when you host a pickup site:

‍

🧹  Weekly Site Check

Make sure your pickup area is clean, safe, and accessible on pickup days. In bad weather, ensure boxes are covered or under shelter if possible.

‍

📋  Box Check & Grace Period Support

At the end of each pickup day, check if any boxes are left behind. Send a quick message to Farmhand with a list of members who still need to pick up (they’ll send out a reminder on your behalf).

‍

🚪 Help Members Feel Welcome

Occasionally, new CSA members may ring your doorbell or knock because they’re confused about where to find their box. A friendly wave, pointing them to the right spot, or a quick explanation goes a long way.

‍

💬  Communication & Feedback

Let Farmhand know if anything comes up—missed deliveries, concerns about quality, or if your availability ever changes. We’re here to support you, and keeping the communication open helps make the CSA better for everyone.
